About 5 Star Pavers
After two decades with the U.S. Coast Guard, I came home looking for something different. I took a job with a hardscape company to learn the trade. The work was solid, but something felt off. Customers wanted their patios and driveways done right, but they were getting rushed work and excuses. I'd spent twenty years showing up for people when it mattered most. I couldn't do anything else.
That's when 5 Star Pavers started. Not from some grand business plan, but from a simple frustration. I wanted to build patios, pool decks, and driveways the way they should be built—with real attention and real respect for the customer. The first year was humble. I had a small crew and we took on whatever work came. Early projects taught us fast. We learned that a conversation at the beginning saves headaches later. That showing up on time means something. That finishing on schedule is a promise, not a suggestion.
We've completed hundreds of projects since. Patios where families gather. Driveways that last longer because we did it right. Pool decks where kids grow up. The work has changed how we think about what we do. Every job teaches us something new about how to serve better.
'People notice when you actually care. They feel it in the details.'
— Owner, 5 Star Pavers
Being part of something bigger than yourself changes how you show up. In the Coast Guard, we didn't do our job because we had to. We did it because people depended on us. That stays with you. We apply it here because a homeowner isn't just hiring a contractor—they're trusting you with their space, their investment, their summer gatherings. We treat it that way.
Local ownership means we're here. We see our work every time we drive through town. We hear about projects years later from neighbors. That matters. We don't disappear after the invoice is paid. We built this because we wanted to work with people directly, to know their names, to show them what real service looks like.
Hundreds of projects have taught us that the difference between okay and excellent is almost always in the details. It's showing up when you said you would. It's answering questions honestly. It's doing the work so well that five years later, the pavers still look new. That's when people call their friends. That's when they say, 'These are the people you need.'
When you reach out, you'll talk to someone who actually knows the work. We listen first—to understand what you want, what matters to you, what problems you're trying to solve. We'll walk your space, ask real questions, and give you a clear picture of what's possible. No pressure, no rush.
From there, we build your project with the same care we'd use for our own homes. The crew shows up on time. The site stays clean. We communicate along the way. When it's done, you get the kind of finish that makes you proud to use your space again and again.
If you're ready to talk about your patio, driveway, or pool deck, call us or send a message. We'd like to meet you.
